In addition to her work with City Dog Country Dog, Heather runs a puppy raising program for a service dog organization in a local correctional facility, and volunteers in the mental health unit there with her therapy dog, Sinbad. She has a deep interest in working with other therapy dog teams and partnering with Portland area therapists to develop innovative programs in Animal-Assisted Therapy.
We can’t thank you enough for helping Cassidy be the dog we wanted her to be. She is delightful, and her puppy manners are actually pretty good now…thanks to you. She comes when called, she doesn’t bark at the
doorbell, she sits and stays and she gives us plenty of puppy hugs. Who could ask for any more. She seems to be mellowing a bit and remembering what she should do, but there is plenty of spunk in her to amuse us.
You’ve armed us with so many tricks that I think we can stay ahead of her when she thinks up yet another thing to try. We keep your notes available to use as refreshers. Cassidy loves her daily walks and if I’m not quick enough, she goes to where her leash is hanging… looks at it, then looks at me, then looks again at the leash. What a fun game she has created.
She’s a terrific dog…and so cute that she gets lots of compliments. Heather, you’ve been the perfect trainer for us. Thanks so very much for all you’ve done.

“Thanks for the encouraging words Heather (and for the notes)! We are working with the Treat n Train most every day and Rowan is learning the ‘games’ very quickly. The short sessions make it very easy for both Rowan and I to keep it up. And of course, I enjoy seeing how fast Rowan learns when I present things properly. Given our family’s health concerns this past year, I am not sure we would have even been able to keep Rowan without your support. So we all thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us understand how to train this guy who was too smart and too energetic for the family situation he arrived in. But with training, he is settling down into a lovely family member.”
